Welcome to Wild Ones Southern Adirondacks Chapter!
WOSA is a volunteer-run native plant society based out of Glens Falls, NY, serving all people in the lower Adirondack region. Our goal is to connect, inspire, and assist fellow gardeners in their native planting goals.
- Connect: Our vision was to create a group where like-minded gardeners could meet, support, and encourage one another. To that end, we offer social-educational events such as monthly guided trail walks from Spring to Fall, and seasonal Meet-and-Greet events at local coffee shops.
- Inspire: We share with others in our community about why it’s important to reintroduce native plants into public and private gardens, and how to go about doing it.
- Assist: We are happy to advertise other organizations’ events and services that support our mission (such as native plant sales, invasive species management, etc.).
So we hope you can come and enjoy our events! We hope they are informative and memorable for you, and that they create an opportunity for you to meet with local people who share your interests. If you have any ideas for events or services that you would like to see, please email us at [email protected].
As a membership-funded organization, we also welcome you to join as a member! Some perks of membership include:
- Access to Wild One National’s online educational workshops by experts on native plants & insects
- Access to local member-exclusive events such as:
- August and September: Local residential native garden tours
- June: A planned field trip to Dawn’s Native Plants Nursery, the biggest local nursery specializing in native plants, located in Valley Falls, NY

Elizabeth Jachim (President)
I am a Warren County mom and speech therapist. I have loved wildflowers since I was a child in Texas, where every spring brings stunning wildflower displays. I started gardening with New York-native plants in my yard in 2022, and they never cease to delight me! Anne Lynn and I co-founded this group in July of 2024 because we wanted to create a community where ecologically-minded gardeners in our region could support one another.

Anne Lynn (Vice President)
I am an Air Force veteran who relocated to Warren County in 2021. Plants and environmental conservation are lifelong interests of mine. I have been making my Glens Falls yard a haven for native plants and insects since 2022.

Melanie Persall (Membership Chair)
I recently left a very successful and long career as a nutritionist with Mass General Hospital. I decided to change careers and follow my passion for ecological gardening. I became a Master Gardener through Cornell in 2024 and hope to build my skills and knowledge about native plants through participation in our new Wild Ones Chapter!

Lori Kimble (Treasurer)
I have lived in the Adirondack area for almost 20 years. I am an avid gardener and have been transforming my gardens into pollinator havens with native plants.

Madison Clements (Secretary)
I have always dreamed of living in a cozy cottage in the Adirondacks, surrounded by wildlife and wildflowers. So when I purchased my first house here in Warren County two years ago, I set out to learn about creating a native landscape and garden that supports myself, the local wildlife, and the planet. With a background in wildlife rehabilitation and a continued passion for environmental sustainability, I’m eager to learn and put my new knowledge into action!
